Building a net zero
future.

Harnessing the power of wind.

NZ Offshore Wind is focused on developing large-scale offshore wind projects that harness Aotearoa’s world class wind resource.

Backed by Elemental Group, our projects draw on deep expertise across geology, engineering, environmental management, and renewable energy. With a strong track record across the Pacific and Caribbean, we’re building the foundations for a low-emissions future, right here in New Zealand.

South Taranaki Offshore Wind Project

Offshore wind project producing 900MW to be located off the south coast of Taranaki region of New Zealand.
The South Taranaki Offshore wind Project will utilise fixed bottom offshore wind technology and provide new capacity to New Zealand’s electricity system - equivalent to powering over 430,000 homes. With a world class wind resource, access to a skilled and experienced workforce and proximity to existing energy transmission infrastructure, South Taranaki Offshore Wind will help decarbonise the local industrial ecosystem, power New Zealand into a net zero future and support the growth of energy intensive industries in the Taranaki region.

Waikato Offshore Wind Project

Located the coast of South Auckland and Waikato in the upper North Island of New Zealand, this Offshore Wind Project will be generating 810MW in Phase 1.
Phase 1 of the Waikato Offshore wind project will utilise bottom-fixed offshore wind technology to provide new capacity to New Zealand’s electricity system - equivalent to powering over 400,000 homes in Phase 1. In Phase 2, floating technology will be deployed in deeper waters to add another 1,125MW of new generation capacity. With a world class wind resource, access to a skilled and experienced workforce and proximity to existing energy transmission infrastructure, Waikato Offshore Wind will help decarbonise the local industrial ecosystem, power New Zealand into a net zero future and support the growth of energy intensive industries in the South Auckland and Waikato regions.

Together, we can harness our most abundant resource.
